WHILE MOST AMERICANS VACATION CLOSE TO HOME, THEIR DREAMS TRAVEL FARTHER

  America is, as we know, a nation of dreamers. We play the lottery, too big design houses and go to the movies with a cliché - but happy ! - Terminations . It seems that our relentless optimism also extends into our leisure time : According to a new survey, while many Americans are happy to take relatively modest rental near the house, still dreaming of a more exotic destinations travel attractive .
The survey, conducted by Reuters / Ipsos for the tour operator Tauck indicates that although many of our holidays can not obtain the status of "dream" at least you're passing by a majority. As a culture , but we still have much work to do ... A total of 36 percent of respondents said they had not taken a vacation in the past five years.
The online survey administered from 30 January to 5 February 2014 asked 2,262 U.S. adults to identify their dream holiday destinations and the location of holiday taken in the last five years. The next destination of the most popular dream , Australia / New Zealand , drew 10 percent , while Alaska was nine percent. Italy and Great Britain / Ireland harvested every seven percent of the vote .
Back to reality : While Americans dreaming of Hawaii, many are actually visit the Midwest and South. Presented with a list of destinations , respondents were asked to "choose the places you have personally taken a vacation in the past five years. " Thirty-two percent chose the South / Middle USA , 20 percent said western United States six and five percent, respectively , collected Hawaii and Alaska.
